Certificates and documentation
The material is delivered, the line is tight – and then the inspection body asks for the 3.1 certificate for the flange in line 17. Whoever then searches through a stack of two hundred pages has not ordered documentation, only certificates. The difference is the assignment: which paper belongs to which item, heat and line. That is the work we can take off your hands.
- Certificates
- inspection certificate 3.1 and 3.2 · test report 2.2 · to EN 10204
- Declarations
- supplier’s declaration (preferential origin) · certificate of origin · declarations of conformity and manufacturer declarations where available
- Assignment
- per item, heat and line · marking on the part · documentation sorted your way
- Basis
- information from sales and quality management, as of 10/2026 – which certificate type is available per article, we clarify with the order
Which papers there are – and what they attest
The inspection certificate 3.1 attests test results on the delivered heat, validated by the manufacturer’s authorised inspection representative, independent of the manufacturing department; the 3.2 additionally with an inspection representative of the purchaser or an inspection company. The test report 2.2 attests results of non-specific inspection. What distinguishes the types and when which is required is explained on the knowledge page inspection documents to EN 10204. Alongside these are the trade documents: the supplier’s declaration for preferential origin, the certificate of origin for export, manufacturer declarations and approvals where they exist.
Which type is available for which article depends on the manufacturer and the heat – a 3.1 for stock material is the rule for pipes, flanges and fittings, a 3.2 is agreed with the order. That is why the certificate requirement belongs in the enquiry, not in the complaint.
Assignment and traceability
Every part carries a marking – manufacturer, standard, material, heat (reading the marking). Our documentation links this marking to your item: item 17, line L-104, heat 4711, certificate number such-and-such. For projects we deliver the certificates sorted per line or construction phase, for call-offs per delivery, on request electronically. After processing the assignment is retained because the marking is transferred. And if a certificate is missing years later: lost inspection certificate describes what is then possible.
What we do not promise: that every certificate type is available for every article, and no standard commitment “always 3.1 included”. What we can deliver, we tell you when you enquire – and then deliver it assigned.
What we need from you

Frequently asked questions
Can I get an inspection certificate 3.1 with pipes and flanges?
Yes - certificates to EN 10204 (2.2, 3.1, 3.2 on request) are supplied per item with heat traceability; the documentation comes bundled with the delivery.

That depends on the article; in the shop we list certificates as a separate item. We tell you what applies when you enquire.
